Re: [Solved]Missing Python interpreter?
I'm having the same problem with youtube-dl in 2020! This happened in Linux Mint 20. I tried the one in the synaptic, the one on the site of the youtube-dl and the one found in the snap. All of them are stating that I need the python interpreter. I checked and I have both phython2 and python3 instal...

HP EliteBook 850 G2 SOLVED
I'm using Linux MInt 19.2 Xfce on my laptop [see title above]. It's working fine except for one detail: when I'm typing it seems that I jump lines and end up somewhere else [in another place] as If I hit the wrong key. Most probably I would need a driver. Any ideas?

Re: How do you get Download Helper to work with Linux?
I'm using video downloadhelper in Linux Mint 19.2. It works like a treat. Besides the firefox addon [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/], one needs to download the companion: [https://github.com/mi-g/vdhcoapp]. Or else if you like terminal style you can use youtube-...

Thanks for your time. I followed the first link in a scrupulous manner. Still same answer. The printer starts to bleep but no paper is printed.

Printing via network (localhost)
I'm trying to print via a localhost. I did connect with the printer and it is being recognized. The printer is getting my message because my laptop says so and the printer gives a beep (error). Unfortunately I'm not the administrator of the printer. There is the job accounting where each person has ...

Login password
How can I make LM 18 hide my login password while typing? If you don't know what I mean by hiding password, basically instead of seeing stars or dots to represent the password characters, I want it to stay blank, and not even show that. People watching me don't know how long my password is. This is ...

Re: Passwords and Keys
A big thank you to you guys for helping me out. This is what makes Linux Mint a great distro besides other factors.
Yes I did try enigmail's externsion for thunderbird. It worked well. It took around 5 minutes to have a pgp key.

Can you give, roughly, the time needed?
Secondly, when one is just importing a key, should it take so long?

I'm using Mint 18 Mate. I have seahorse installed. I'm trying to import a key to my passwords and keys. It takes a long time and I assume that Import is not successful. I try to create a new key (RSA 4096), it still doesn't show after waiting for a long time. How long should I wait for the key to be...

Re: job accounting in printing
Thanks for your time and help. Yes, everybody has a different ID. It was set by the administrator of the office. At the moment I'm trying to solve it out by learning how to use Tea4CUPS. If I'll solve it out, I will write down my solution.

job accounting in printing
I'm in an office and I use LM 17.3. We share one printer. I can connect easily to the printer. It is connected via lan. As in office we have a limited number of paper to print, every time we print a window opens up to ask for job accounting ID. I tried to find how to do it in LM without being succes...
