The only panel i have found that has somewhat increased fonts is in the cinnamon-gnome theme.

This was already checked on my system.squeezy wrote:From the Menu go to Administration -> Login Window -> Accessibilty tab. Make sure Login successful: is checked and references an existing sound file.

I 've found some sort of workaround:
In startup-applications i created :"Login-sound",
with the command: play /usr/share/sounds/linuxmint-login.wav
This gives me back my startup-sound.

I tried the weather-extension, mentioned above, and changed the cinnamon number, but it showed up in Cinnamon-settings, but on my screen it is NOT visible. Anyone an idea? I found another solutions in a (ubuntu) forum:
I copied the ogg files in /usr/share/sounds/LinuxMint/stereo to /usr/share/sounds.
I restarted en there was my loginsound !
( I don't know why).
