Re: Linux Mint 17- MATE 7 & cinnamon- Install error - 60.128
Solved by buying new Z97 motherboard and RAM. Not sure why it happened on the Ultrabook however. I think maybe it is a BIOS software issue. I tried to upgrade the BIOS on the Z87 but it still randomly reported the error. No probs with new motherboard and RAM. Might just buy a new Broadwell Ultrabook.

Re: Mint 17 - dist-upgrade vs upgrade
Thanks .. I edited my original post as you replied
So just to clarify ... does this mean a dist-upgrade will be running Mint 17 with the latest packages, or some sort of Mint 18 alpha packages?

Mint 17 - dist-upgrade vs upgrade
Quick question .... I just installed Mint 17. What do I get if I do a dist-upgrade vs an upgrade? I have read this ... but does this mean a dist-upgrade will be running Mint 17 with the latest packages, or some sort of Mint 18 alpha packages? http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-mint-84/upd...

Incorrect.ukoda wrote:Since the WiFi is not supported at install time and there is no cabled Ethernet connection this could be the problem.
I had an ethernet connection for the full installation via the Apple USB-RJ45 ethernet adapter.

Mint 16 RC GRUB Install Failure on Macbook AIr
I am installing Mint 16 RC and trying to install on a Macbook Air late 2012. I had no problems installing Ubuntu 13.10 but Mint 16 RC has a GRUB installation failure. "The 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will no...

Re: How do I remove Mint search engine from Chromium
thank you.
it worked ... just make sure to close chromium first!
it is quite amazing having a nice clean & fresh chromium install. very happy.
if Mint need a donation, they could work out methods to just ask people ... rather than this forceful method.

Re: [Solved] System freezing - Mint 13 Cinnamon

Re: Daryna KDE CE BETA 044 is out!
Thanks for the hardwork guys .... some early feedback ... hope it helps improve ... 1. On a Intel P35 mboard with 22" LCD, the grub splash screen was huge. Needs a trim. 2. Immediately after KDE started, I had a KDE crash as per the following: (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_d...

Re: compiz beryl and desktop effects, how far will you go?
completely agree .. well almost. you use a few small features. i dont use any. it doesn't help me at all. as an example, what is the benefit of having a smooth transition as a screen fades out and another back in. i would much rather an instant & responsive flash as the new screen loads efficien...
