Re: Teamviewer not connecting across local LAN on Mint 21.0 Cinnamon
I did that, and I whitelisted my account on the desktop - even though I have granted "Easy Access" Disabling the Firewall made no difference - I started TV from the terminal - no adverse messages - it fails silently. Interestingly, now I have whitelisted myself, I can see the connection st...

Teamviewer not connecting across local LAN on Mint 21.0 Cinnamon
I have the latest Teamviewer installed on a desktop and a Laptop as well as 2 Android devices Prior to upgrade to Mint v21, I was able to control both pcs from each other and also from the Android devices. The settings are the same as before and correct - "East Access" is still granted. I ...

Re: Rhythmbox 3.4.5 - installation
Whilst Flatpak has its place, I prefer a .deb or PPA. I am not a novice and I am aware of the risks involved and how Flatpak can be considered the "modern" way. But not for me, sorry. It appears that without Flatpak there will be no direct method of upgrading unless someone creates a .deb ...

Re: Rhythmbox 3.4.5 - installation
Thank you for your reply. I have tried Quod Libet, it does cover most of the bases I need, but it requires a good understanding of the search functions to create saved searches for dynamic playlists - and I never grasped it sufficiently to do what I want either easily or quickly. Rhythmbox makes tha...

Rhythmbox 3.4.5 - installation
There is a new version of Rhythmbox released in GitHub which I would like to upgrade to. I downloaded the .tar.gz file and noticed from the INSTALL file the author now makes use of Meson to carry out the build. So, I downloaded Meson from the Mint Repositories and followed the instructions. (meson _...

Nemo Sort order problem with Downloads folder
System specs, Linux Mint 20.3 (this applies to 20.x in total I think), Cinnamon desktop Hi, looking for some help before either reporting a bug or suggesting a new feature. - I have searched to find no mention of this here or in the Cinnamon faults logs I have noticed that I have a slight issue with...

Re: Mint 20 not Sound output switching to "Headphones" on Boot
Okay, I don't know why it's happening, but I think I can give you a workaround. Your headphones have a higher priority than the line out, so this shouldn't be happening as seen here: Ports: analog-output-lineout: Line Out (priority: 9000, available) analog-output-headphones: Headphones (priority: 9...

Re: Mint 20 not Sound output switching to "Headphones" on Boot
Hi Oldbwl, Let me see the output of this command: curl https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/raw/master/src/utils/pa-info?inline=false | bash | nc termbin.com 9999 The last line of output will have a URL pointing to your sound setup. That point to why this is happening, but even if i...

Mint 20 not Sound output switching to "Headphones" on Boot
This is the first time I have had an issue like this, maybe one of you can help. A new HP Envy does not recognise that headphones are plugged in at boot time. It defaults to "Line Out". The sound can be restored by either manually switching the sound output device or by unplugging the head...

Re: Mint 20 Mate LibreOffice Writer glitch
I have looked at this. I can confirm the Bug does exist for me too. I cannot see why.
The Tab key does not work on any of the lines already existing in the document.
Creating a new line eventaully enabled the Tab key.
I recommend that you report this Bug to LibreOffice

XnViewMP - segmentation fault in LM20 Cinnamon
I use XnViewMP a great deal. The latest version (96.3) fails to load in LM20 reporting a Segmentation fault. I have left a report on the sotware devs own site. I note there is a flatpak version which I have managed to run OK in a Live USB environment (I cant upgrade from19.3 to 20 until I sort this)...

Solved: Nemo: Side panel Disk useage graphic - not on Home
In the screenshot crop of my Laptop's nemo side panel (v4.4.2 in Cinnamon 19.3) you can see the File System label has a disk useage graphic. My Desktop also has the same graphic under the Home folder as well, but for some reason it does not appear in the Laptop. Anyway to rectify this? Screenshot fr...

[SOLVED] Cinnamon 19.1 New Panel - after installation
Can someone confirm how the revert to old style panel is done (after installation), I presumed that it was "just a click away" but I think that is only during initial installation. Is it just a case of downloading and installing/adding the appropriate old style panel Applet then deleting t...

Re: Anyone else get flickering desktop backgrounds and windows periodically on NVIDIA cards in Cinnamon?
I have experienced this issue three or four times since 18.3. I run dual monitors and it only occurs on the secondary, and especially when Firefox Q is running.
